What Is Pupil Council?

Pupil Council is a group of elected pupils from P3 - P7 who meet regularly to represent the ideas and opinions of their classmates. Pupil Council work alongside Miss McComb and other members of staff and the school community to help improve our school environment and ensure Braidwood is a happy, safe and fun place for our learning. The views of Primary 1 and 2 are also represented by P6 and P7 reps who work hard to help infant classes.

What happens at Pupil Council Meetings?

Pupil Council is organised like a proper committee. At each meeting we have an agenda to ensure we discuss the most important items raised at previous meetings. Reps collect views and opinions from their peers (from suggestions slips in classes/speaking to others) and discuss possible options at our meetings. Miss McComb acts as Chairperson and facilitator for each meeting and collates minutes for reps to feed back to their class about what we have discussed at our meetings.

How can Pupil Council Help You?

If you have any suggestions about different things you would like to see or have in our school then Pupil Council reps are the people to talk to. We love hearing your comments and we will try our best to fairly discuss all matters raised. Unfortunately we are unable to buy a swimming pool or private jet for our school but we always try hard to look at all options for fundraising to buy any items that would benefit our school, all pupils and staff. Pupil Council are here to listen to your views and are always here to help in any way we can.
